Pulse Training Solutions was contracted to deliver the new First Aid for Sport qualification developed by The Football Association and 1st4sport Qualifications. The course has now been delivered to sixth form students at Charters School & Sports College in Ascot. The programme has been developed at NVQ Level 2 and is a stepping stone between the FA Emergency Aid Certificate and the Basic Treatment of Injuries Certificate. Students receive training in a number of skills including recognition and treatment of medical conditions and injuries sustained in sport. Students learn to apply the SALTAPS injury recognition routine to identify then apply appropriate first aid care for a range of situations.
There is definitely a requirement for a qualification of this kind and PTS will be supporting the delivery of more courses for local football associations and sports colleges. Anyone interested in attending the First Aid for Sport course should contact their local football association representative. PTS will advise of courses in our area (Oxon, Berks and Bucks).
