PTS now offer dynamic gait analysis using TOG gaitscan equipment. From late January patients attending the Gait and Posture Clinic will be scanned using the very latest technology to test foot function. Poor foot function can lead to poor posture and a whole host of musculoskeletal problems. Data from the biomechanical assessment and computerised gait analysis is sent electronically to a lab at The Orthotic Group and a pair of prescription orthotic devices are manufactured to correct foot function.
What are Prescription Orthotics?
Prescription orthotics look like insoles, but are biomechanical medical appliances that are custom made to correct your specific foot imbalance. Orthotics work on your feet in much the same way as glasses work on your eyes – they reduce stress and strain on your body by bringing your feet back to proper alignment. Orthotics fit in your shoe as comfortably as an insole, and have the advantage of having been made from precise imprints of your feet.
